2012 Elections Need Storage!
Only 3 months away from the USA Presidential Election Nov 6, 2012. Get a vStor or eStor from ieei.tv and have a simple and reliable way to store / edit all your extra election media.
Lots of TV stations are using the Apace central shared storage server from ieei.tv and loving it. Simply plug into your GigE network and bingo, you have spinning disk NAS based storage raid 5 (vStor) or raid-6 (eStor) protection.
vStor and eStor are NAS based video digital storage servers that are the "glue" that allows you to tell better stories.
PostMAM, is now postMAM3 and postMAM3 Pro (pm3pro). With pm3pro you have the powerful MAM (Media Assets Management), with automated workflows including ingest/transcode and auto/batch metadata import. pm3pro is very powerful.
CFM: Cluster File Manager has been updated and is a powerful Apace tool that enables you to manage interbox Apace to Apace media and files, including workspace search and file copy/validator.
Octopa A popular s/w tool by Apace that enables you to create scheduled backup sets along with the powerful and most important "restore." We call it workflow resilience. Protect Avid Unity / Isis along with Apple XSAN with Octopa.

Find Media in Seconds!!! |
Introducing Nexidia......Dialogue Search. Nexidia's Dialogue Search lets you quickly and easily find any word or phrase spoken in your audio or video files. This means that content creators such as journalists and editors can work faster and reduce costs, content owners like broadcasters, web sites, corporations and universities can expose hidden value in their video libraries, and content consumers can find exactly the media they're looking for - media they might never find at all with metadata alone.
Nexidia's Dialogue Search from ieei.tv integrates with your media or production asset management system, including the Apace pm3pro, to access media and metadata and to send search result information directly to your MAM and non-linear video editor. In addition to a media asset management systems, Dialogue Search will also support standalone file systems.
There's no special training required to conduct a dialogue search: You simply type in the word or phrase you're looking for. Nexidia's technology is unique in that it doesn't depend on a dictionary, which means you can search for any word or phrase, including proper names, slang, even terms which have just come into use. This is because Nexidia's technology searches for the "phonemes" or the sounds of the words instead of relying on a speech-to-text translation. You can also search for multiple terms at once and filter based on metadata from your MAM.
Dialogue Search indexes these files at 60 times faster than real time per CPU core or said another way 60 hours of media can be made searchable in one hour per CPU core. The search is also fast. How fast?
For example, using this tool you can search 218,805 hours in 2.5 seconds!!! Yep you read that right. Let us show you!
If you are going to IBC, email Drew Lanham from Nexidia who is going to be in Amsterdam @ email mediapartners@ signnexidia(dot)com to schedule time to get together. Nexidia is in meeting room Hall 13, location MS2.

ieei.tv Working To Save Water For The World
Recently, my daughter and I embarked on a small but meaningful project to promote awareness of water conservation and to encourage people to get involved.
We handed out 5 minute water timers in the hopes that people in our community would reevaluate their shower times and other water usage projects. A family of 4, taking 5 minute showers vs 20 minute showers can save 55,000 gallons of water a year!
ieei.tv cares about our planet and as a responsible company we are supporting the save-water cause.
