IEEI and Apace Systems Announce End-to-End 10Gbe Ethernet
Workflow Support For Uncompressed HD Editing and Graphics
            Workflow |

           |

If you are using or planning to do collaborative Video editing
            of 10-bit uncompressed HD for 720p, 1080i, 2K and 4K, or have
graphic or compute intensive workgroups, it is our pleasure to
inform you that today at DV Expo West, IEEI and Apace Systems, your
network storage solution provider, in partnership with Fujitsu
Computer Products of America, Inc announced availability of
            end-to-end 10 Gigabit/sec Ethernet (10GE) workgroup support for 10
bit uncompressed HD stream on MAC and PC platforms and all Graphics
            Editing and Rendering functions.
As you may know, given the massive bit rate of uncompressed HD,
editing workstations are forced to work with their islands of
storage and collaboration is very difficult, even with the
introduction of SAN in your network. Leveraging from 2.5-5X speeds
of 10GE, compared to Fibre channel and SCSI connectivity, IEEI and
Apace Systems can offer 10GE enabled eStor 2500 Series File based
NAS storage, 12 Port 10GE switch, and 10GE NIC cards from our
partners to offer you an end-to-end complete 10GE workgroup. As a
result, you can use this 10GE technology for your Video editing,
Graphics/Render farms, imaging, simulation, Disk-to-disk Backup and
            scientific applications. | |

          10GbE Video Editing & Archive Now a

    Optimized for PC,
MAC, Linux based video editing and post-production workgroups, Apace
Systems Network Storage systems equipped with 10GbE connectivity and in
partnership with Fujitsu ultra-low latency 10GbE switch fabric offer
end-to-end high performance multi-stream HDV, SD and HD workgroup video
editing access, playback and archive over 10GbE LAN
      Orange,
      Calif., December 7, 2005 – Apace Systems Corporation®, a leading video
storage system manufacturer and solutions provider, and Fujitsu Computer
Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of hard
disk drives and computer peripherals, announced that they are offering an
end-to-end 10GbE connectivity solution for multi-platform video editing
and post-production workgroups. At 2.5x speed of the fastest Fibre Channel
link, this is the fastest interconnectivity available for local computers
and storage. Apace Systems will be the solution provider of 10GbE Network
Attached Storage systems (NAS), and will deploy the Fujitsu XG700
multi-port 10GbE switch products along with its own storage technology for
Apace’s post-production and media imaging customers. Additionally, Apace
Systems will enable deployment of 10GbE installation for video, leveraging
from its established 10GbE card suppliers to offer an end-to-end 10GbE
connectivity for video editing and archive PC, MAC and Linux based
      workgroups.
High resolution of uncompressed video and its ever increasing high
stream bit rates have started to saturate the single Gigabit Ethernet
connectivity pushing the market to consider other connectivity solutions
out of necessity. With the commercial availability of 10GbE technology
applied to video space, Apace Systems and Fujitsu are taking the necessary
steps to bring together and offer an end-to-end integrated 10GbE workflow
for throughput hungry video editing and archive markets.
“Shared and low latency video access, editing, archive and real-time
playback of uncompressed High Definition video is an issue for
post-production market, forcing the user to consider video editing tasks
only in the confines of individual workstations with dedicated SCSI or
Fibre Channel storage, hampering collaborative editing,” said Jeanclaude
Toma, Apace systems Executive Vice President. “We at Apace believe that
the solution is not dedicated storage or still limited and proprietary SAN
connectivity, but to scale up the GigE LAN to 10GbE connectivity and offer
a 10X access of end-to-end high performance connectivity for all video
centric applications. The 10GbE access from editing client nodes to the
Apace’s shared file based network storage systems is now available paired
with the unique Fujitsu multi-10GbE switching technology at the heart of
the network, where these beefed up PC, MAC and Linux editing client
workstations with 10GbE connectivity of their own can truly collaborate
      with each other,” Toma added.
“Intelligently managed and collaborative video creation, archive and
distribution are at the core of Apace’s business. The emerging simple and
cost-effective 10GbE technology fundamentally changes the
interconnectivity landscape for video content sharing, to be local or
wider area. Apace Systems’ ability to offer complete 10GbE based solutions
to address video editing and archive market pain points with the help of
its technology partners is key to meeting our customer needs. We
appreciate the Fujitsu 10GbE switch fabric technology as a complimentary
piece in support of our customer base,” said Dr. Lee Hu, CEO and President
      of Apace Systems Corporation.
Video editors can use Apace’s network storage systems with up to 14TB
per chassis of RAID protected s-ATA HDD based storage and 10GbE
connectivity, for push/pull and real-time playback of content via the
10GbE fabric for uncompressed HD streams including 2K and up to 4K
resolutions with a distance up to 10km radius. In addition to
post-production workflows film and image scanning solutions can make use
of the immense storage and network throughput offered through this
      solution.
